The Bruker Nano Analytics (BNA) Division, headquartered at Bruker Nano GmbH in Berlin, Germany, develops, manufactures and markets state of the art systems and components for elemental and structural analysis.
We are seeking an Application Specialist for our Handheld, Mobile and Portable analyzer (HMP) product line. The HMP product line includes the S1 TITAN and TRACER 5 handheld XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analyzers and CTX countertop XRF analyzer. The application specialist is providing application support to our customers and sales and support team and develops new XRF applications. The key focus areas are metal alloys, environmental applications, material science, and other research and academic applications.
The Application specialist is part of our global application support team and works closely with product management and R&D team to help to develop new portable analytical solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid experience in XRF instrumentation, or a comparable spectroscopic technique.
Provide application support to customers and carry out customer trainings, sales demonstrations, and installations
Provide support to field sales organization, including the development of sales support and customer-facing literature.
Improve existing applications and instrument calibrations and develop new application specific solutions for our customers
Carry out application technical feasibility studies and prepare application notes and white papers.
Create user documentation and training material
Provide technical support for production team and develop new processes for factory and service calibrations and final quality assurance
Work closely with Product Management and R&D team to develop new products and solutions
Provide technical presentations, webinars and workshops to customers, partners at technical meetings/trade shows
Attend exhibitions and conferences to support market development and sales activities.
BS in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field required, MS or PhD desired
3+ years analytical instrumentation experience, XRF and/or other elemental spectroscopy methods. XRF technical experience desired.
Preferably 3+ years of experience in a relevant field of work
Experience in some of our core customer applications preferred: metal industry, manufacturing, environmental, material research
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic laboratory and sample preparation skills
Understanding of statistical analysis and statistical process control, proficiency with spreadsheets for data analysis
Interest to work in a flexible organization, requiring multiple roles and ability to adjust to needs of the organization and/or markets.
Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical, and proposal communication and presentation skills
Personal strengths should include flexibility, communication and team-work skills
Very good command of spoken and written English, ability to communicate effectively at all levels of organization
Good command of spoken and written German
Willingness to travel worldwide, require up to 30% travel
