We are looking for a results-driven technology manager reporting directly to the CEO to join our organization. Your role is to develop and scale proprietary LED technologies at Crocus Labs . You will successfully introduce break-through products with new technologies and architectures for LED lighting to the market.
Technical Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
A subject matter expert who can innovate and develop new products within customer requirements, using the latest technologies and resources, as well as ensuring process robustness and manufacturability, cost effectiveness and profitable yields, complete with post-release care.
Understanding of III-V semiconductor materials, process, device design and integration schemes with the ability to propose and demonstrate novel solutions to enhance performance of LEDs.
Knowledge of LED optics and coating material - Silicone, phosphor and epoxy resin.
Strong physics-based thinker able to perform device design, simulation and characterization
Solid background in compound semiconductors device design with specific understanding of GaN and GaAs is preferred.
Must be a strong individual contributor that is self-starting and able to make technical decisions in a fast-paced research environment.
Strong communication, presentation and teamwork skills are required.
Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE).
Experience on leading process development activities as part of new product and/or technology development.
Demonstrated skills for conducting R&D with a team that results in advancement of the state-of-the-art.
Startup Know-how to work under limited resources, with most factors unknown. Hands-on mentality and entrepreneurial mindset
Experience working with raw materials suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Prior knowledge of filing IP and maintaining an IP portfolio.
Required Education & Experience
Masters or PhD in electrical engineering, material science, physics, chemistry or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in semiconductor device research or process development required (industrial experience preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in LEDs and/or power electronics.
