The Ernst Abbe Fund, a trust foundation within the Stifterverband, will be presenting the Carl Zeiss Award for Young Researchers for the fifth time in 2027 to promising young scientists in the field of optics and photonics.
Eligible for the award are outstanding postdocs or research group leaders who obtained their doctoral degree (Dr or PhD) no more than three years ago and who have published an outstanding paper of scientific work in an internationally recognised journal within the past three years.
The prize is endowed with a total of €21,000 and will be divided equally into three prizes of €7,000 each.
The deadline for applications is 16 October 2026.
